Tribal Connections
yaya, so my hiking buddy returned.
Tamalpais and Mt. Diablo will be dominated soon.
Other than that we hung out last night, I realized my house makes people sleepy and bored. I don't like it.
Seeing Lauren again made me want to get a band going even more. Soon... very soon.
I've also got backup plans lined up that make me pretty excited (I almost don't want things to work out so I can just straight up leave), but I've got some extreme patience.
PS: I've started designing and doing more vector art again... see?

Blackout

So there were multiple blackouts today at Whole Foods.
It was fun for a while, and then it turned ugly when the power would go on and off every 30 minutes (and when your shift is 8 hours long, that really sucks).
But we still got silly and told jokes in the dark.
I felt like I was in a cheesy teenage slasher movie.
I requested High on Fire on the Fox. He said I was really cool.
PS: my nose is bleeding.. HELLA.
bad nachos
Today was strange.
The day started great and then I had some nachos and it pretty much went entirely downhill from there.
One good thing is my old 7th grade art teacher wants me to come in and do a little slideshow or talk to the class. That should be fun. I don't think she gets many chances to see a former student come so far. She seemed super surprised when I told her about all my achievements (and plans).
Some little goodbyes tonight as well.
Let's just hope mine will be even half as sweet.
PS: My friend Nome just got back from Africa!!!
she took this of Mt. Kilimanjaro

MyspaceFaces
We've got a very self-centered, egotistical generation about to hit puberty.
And on the other side we have ageist, liberal oldies that think they shouldn't have to give up their domain to the newer generations. (I had two people come through my line at Whole Foods; one who thought I was too young to know who the Simpsons were [wtf?] and another who just couldn't believe I knew anything about any artists before the 1990s.)
Our lives are like a "myspace" picture, the cameras always pointed at us. Companies are going to have to rethink a lot of their policies and approaches to recruiting employees.
And yes... I see the irony in the fact I'm communicating these thoughts through my blog.
But I like the pictures I can find. Odd angles that make for cool drawings.
PS: I made these kids look much more attractive than they really were.

I don't drink enough.
I've realized I don't know anyone anywhere near the same situation as I am in.
I don't have any friends who can relate to anything I go through.
No one has the experience of a full time job, a budget, and a life going nowhere. Basically working to live. I'm the less extreme of that situation but it's all the same. I'm alone with the struggle. One day everyone will realize what it's like. I'm not asking for sympathy cause there's none anyone can give. I'm not asking for "older" friends. I'm not asking for anything, just to understand my mindset right now.
I'm stuck. Trapped. I could leave but to where? And with what?
And I can just envision all the possible things that can go wrong. They've already happened to my plans for Tokyo and Disneyland and any other pinnacle I try to accomplish on my own. What's stopping something stupid to happen to my chances at Italy. Then I basically wasted an entire year.
I don't drink enough.

Productive
So far today has been productive-ish.
I suppose as much as a crazy rainy day can be.
I got my ticket to Deerhoof (!!!!!) and requested the day off from work.
Bought some cd's (which I haven't done in God knows how long).
Dimitri from Paris funk/dance mixes:

X - Los Angeles (one of the greatest punk bands from SoCal)

and High on Fire - Death is this Communion

Now that I think about it, the guys at The Last Record Store must have thought I was crazy... Deerhoof tickets, then 3 cds, one crazy death metal, one old school punk, and one electro/dance. Guuuuugh?

Indirect Silence
I just found some old recordings from about 2003-04 of my old band Indirect Silence.
Funniest thing ever, a couple of freshman playing Heavy Metal.
A blast from the past, seriously. But surprisingly it was recorded pretty well and they were both decently constructed.
There's so many bands I wanna start:
Rolling Stones Punk cover band
Psychedelic Rock
Folk Indie
and super fast crazy Death Metal
it'd be fun.
I also am trying to set up my art show downtown. I wanna DJ it too.
Looks like Tokyo is a bust but that's okay cause I'm down with just going over the summer, Tokyo's not going anywhere so I'm in no hurry.
Let's watch some Muppets.
