Beetlejuice

October 22 - Beetlejuice

Not the scariest movie ever but when I was a kid I jumped pretty high when the shrimp hands pop out and grab everybody's face at the end of the dinner scene.

An American Werewolf in London

October 21 - An American Werewolf in London

This movie simultaneously launched the careers of some of the greatest special fx artists and changed horror films forever. This is also the second horror/comedy movie by John Landis that I've watched this month... time to bust out some more Sam Raimi.

Spiders and Owls

7 Billion

You wanna talk about scary? How 'bout another billion people on this dumbass planet?

The UN and various authorities used to say we'd have 9 billion by 2040... doesn't seem like it's exactly sneaking up on us. More like hurtling.

Let The Right One In

October 20 - Låt den rätte komma in (Let the Right One In)

I've been interested in this movie since it came out but never really got the chance to see it. There's an American remake called Let Me In but I'm sticking with the original. Little girl vampires? Fuck yea.

The Mist

October 19 - The Mist

I didn't like this movie all too much when I first saw it but I just found out that Darabont wanted it seen in black and white, and I'm curious.

Innocent Blood

October 11 - Innocent Blood

Other than a few Dracula/Nosferatu films, this is the best vampire movie ever.
