Trick 'r Treat

October 8th - Trick 'r Treat

I've been looking forward to finally seeing this, I've heard a lot of mixed reviews but I'm sure it won't disappoint me, it's kindof hard to do with horror movies.

The Evil Dead

October 6th - The Evil Dead

I'll probably be watching this with commentary. Sam Raimi is pretty funny.

The '90s

this is my favorite saying...

The Serpent and the Rainbow

October 5th - The Serpent and the Rainbow

Bill Pullman in a zombie flick by Wes Craven, what more could you need?

The Shining

October 4th - The Shining

Still the scariest movie, the music alone is just terrifying.

Gahan Wilson

Gahan Wilson was another huge inspiration for me when I was a morbid little child. I own one the Classics Illustrated edition of The Raven but I don't know where Devil's Dictionary went. There is an incredible version of Lizzie Borden that Wilson does in that one, gory as hell.

The Devil's Rejects

October 2nd - The Devil's Rejects

House of 1000 Corpses is a guilty pleasure, but this film is a masterpiece in the vein of psycho-slashers. A good film to follow TCM.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre

October 1st - Texas Chainsaw Massacre

October

It's October again, and everything is still scary.

In honor of my favorite month I'm posting some pieces from my first true inspiration from my childhood, Stephen Gammell. Most will recognize these from the "scary stories" series.
