It was a tough decision but tonight, Halloween, will be my favorite punk rock zombie movie, Return of the Living Dead, complete with strippers, parties, zombies, graveyards, cremation, punks, blood, and "send..more..cops". Happy Halloween everyone!
Another favorite of mine, seriously gritty vampire flick. It's movies like this that make me wonder why shit like Twilight gets popular.. although I guess not among horror enthusiasts.
Not the scariest movie ever but when I was a kid I jumped pretty high when the shrimp hands pop out and grab everybody's face at the end of the dinner scene.
This movie simultaneously launched the careers of some of the greatest special fx artists and changed horror films forever. This is also the second horror/comedy movie by John Landis that I've watched this month... time to bust out some more Sam Raimi.
October 20 - Låt den rätte komma in (Let the Right One In)
I've been interested in this movie since it came out but never really got the chance to see it. There's an American remake called Let Me In but I'm sticking with the original. Little girl vampires? Fuck yea.
If you're at all into '70s rock, stoner-blues, and anything else that may ring a bell with a band like this, you must check these guys out. I have been waiting for something new from them since their self-titled in 2008, and at that point I thought they were a '70s rock band.
I've been looking forward to finally seeing this, I've heard a lot of mixed reviews but I'm sure it won't disappoint me, it's kindof hard to do with horror movies.
Gahan Wilson was another huge inspiration for me when I was a morbid little child. I own one the Classics Illustrated edition of The Raven but I don't know where Devil's Dictionary went. There is an incredible version of Lizzie Borden that Wilson does in that one, gory as hell.
